Home Theatre Protection
Plasma Screens and expensive home theatre equipment are very sensitive to surge voltages. The recommended power protection device is the IEC200.
The IEC200 plugs in to a power point and protects all other equipment connected to it.
The IEC200 utilises Silicon Avalanche Suppression Diode technology to provide the best surge limiting.
An important factor in any home theatre is to make sure all equipment is fed from the same power point. This minimises earth voltage differences which can create noise between equipment. If this is not possible then optical connections for signal cabling is the solution.
Other solutions are available but investigation or discussion is recommended.
Office Protection
Even if you have an Uninterruptible Power Supply, all it is doing is battery backup and low energy surge limiting. For high energy surge protection, the recommended power protection device is the IEC200.
The IEC200 plugs in to a power point and protects all other equipment connected to it. That includes laser printers and fax machines.
The IEC200 utilises Silicon Avalanche Suppression Diode technology to provide the best limiting surges.
House Protection
Using the I2R Din Rail Mounted solution, allows quick installation by your electrician.
Remember, the key is to work out what you need to protect. Then choose the device to meet your needs.
The cheaper MOV protection, as found in power boards, power points and sometimes your main switchboard, is good for motor protection. As a minimum, MOV protection is still recommended. The down side is that you have to remember that MOV's need regular replacement as their performance degrades.
If however you want to protect electronic equipment, then you should use SASD protection. |
